More Information - The Courses

Parents EFA

Parents EFA is a supportive, non-clinical approach that helps parents care for their emotional wellbeing so they can better support their children.

Unlike traditional parenting courses, EFA begins with you. It recognises that emotionally healthy adults create safer, more nurturing environments where children can thrive.

🌱 What You Will Find in Parents’ EFA

A calm, confidential space to explore your emotional needs

Practical tools to notice early signs of distress

Strategies to manage anxiety, stress, and self-doubt

Peer support through honest, shared experiences

Insights into how your wellbeing shapes your child’s

🧠 Why It Matters

As one parent said, “A parent is only as happy as their saddest child.” But the reverse is true as well — when parents feel grounded, children grow stronger.

Parents’ EFA helps build that foundation. Through reflection, resilience, and emotional literacy, it invites you to show up for yourself — and in doing so, show up more fully for your family.

Primary EFA

Primary EFA is a gentle, inclusive approach that supports the emotional wellbeing of children aged 4–11. It is not therapy — it is a practical, strengths-based way to help children feel safe, seen, and supported during everyday challenges and bigger emotional upsets.

At its heart, Primary EFA focuses on connection before correction. It equips the adults around a child — whether parents, teachers, carers, or volunteers — with simple, powerful tools to recognise emotional distress early and respond with care.

💛 What Primary EFA Offers

Age-appropriate strategies for emotional regulation

Ways to create emotionally safe environments for learning and play

Tools to respond to behaviours as communication, not disobedience

A gentle introduction to trauma-informed approaches

Support for children with additional learning needs, attachment challenges, or care experience

🌱 Why It Matters

Children who feel emotionally supported are more likely to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Primary EFA helps lay the foundation for lifelong resilience — through connection, compassion, and consistent care.

Peer EFA

Peer EFA empowers children and young people to notice emotional struggles in themselves and others — and respond with empathy, not judgment.

It is not about turning children into counsellors. Instead, it gently builds emotional awareness, kindness, and confidence in offering support within safe boundaries.

💛 What Peer EFA Teaches

How to understand and name feelings

How to listen with care, without needing to "fix"

When and how to ask a trusted adult for help

Ways to offer comfort or encouragement safely

How to value differences and respect each other’s stories

🌱 Why It Matters

Peer relationships shape how children see themselves and the world. With the right tools and guidance, those friendships can become powerful sources of strength.

Peer EFA creates space for care, connection, and emotional safety — making kindness something we practice, not just hope for.

Young People EFA

Young People’s EFA is a practical, supportive approach for teenagers aged 11–18. It helps them understand their emotions, build resilience, and feel more confident supporting themselves and their friends.

It is not counselling — it is about offering realistic tools and safe spaces to explore emotional wellbeing in everyday life.

🌱 What Young People’s EFA Covers

How to recognise and name difficult feelings

Techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and low mood

Support for building self-esteem and positive coping habits

Guidance on when to ask for help — and how to offer it safely

Encouragement to create boundaries and respect others’ experiences

🌈 Why It Matters

Adolescence is full of change and pressure — from identity to school to friendships. Young People’s EFA provides space to pause, reflect, and grow stronger from the inside out.

It helps create a culture of openness and understanding, where emotional wellbeing becomes a shared strength — not a silent struggle.
